Consistent with the Mission of Stonehill College, the Recreational Sports Department believes our staff, participants, employees and athletes should provide opportunities to those in our surrounding community to experience what they may not otherwise. For 21 years, the College and Rec Sports Department have been one of the homes of the town of Easton's youth basketball program. Hundreds of local boys and girls play many of their games here during the winter months as the Ames Sports Complex is made available to the town.

Our long term relationship with Massachusetts Special Olympics is one of the most rewarding experiences each year. Every February the Complex becomes the home of the Southeast Sectional State Basketball Qualifier. This all day event is highly anticipated by the special athletes as well as the Stonehill Students. Club, varsity and intramural athletes as well as the leadership of many Hill Rec Sports staff make this day one to remember for all involved.
